Strange bedfellows indeed! Olly Alcock & Walter De La Mare? I hear you ask? It all came about one day when I was feeling quite ‘cultural’, & I have always liked ‘The Listeners’ as a poem from my Eng- Lit days at school. So it seemed quite natural to have a break from the blues and try to capture the moods and feelings of these poems. Some I have taken terrible liberties with, whilst others are used ‘straight’ so to speak. I have updated some of Walter’s terminology too, as it wouldn’t be right to actually educate the general public now would it?

The Listeners really started something, & I have tried to emulate the spooky, almost ethereal emotions of his work. Once again, a dreaded drum machine was used (my old foe, lack of money I’m afraid) but hopefully you can see through that & get the mood! I played all instruments and sang all the vocal tracks. The album was completed on 23rd June 2011.
